Guyana's Private Sector to Examine Challenges and Opportunities of the FTAA

“PREPARING for an FTAA: Competing in a Global Trading Environment” will be the theme of a seminar at the Berbice Chamber of Commerce and Development Association (BCCDA), New Amsterdam, Guyana on June 21.

The event, which is being supported by the United States Agency for International Development's Caribbean Trade and Competitiveness Development Program (C-TRADECOM), will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. It is part of C-TRADECOM's Regional Civil Society Outreach Program.

Among the speakers will be Mr. William Phelps, C-TRADECOM's Chief of Party; Mr. Neville Totaram, NACEN Coordinator, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Guyana and Mr. Gyandat Marray, President of the BCCDA, along with representatives from several other private sector organizations.

The objective of the seminar is to raise awareness of the FTAA process and its potential challenges and opportunities among members of Guyana's private sector.
